Wizarding World Connection Errors – Common Fixes and Causes

Expelliarmus, connection issues!

The long wait is finally over, as Harry Potter fans who gained early access to Hogwarts Legacy are finally taking their first steps into its hallowed halls. But for some, those first steps aren’t going as smoothly as we’d like. When trying to link to their WB Games account, issues have included Wizarding World connection issues, which gives players a couple of exclusive in-game items. Plus, issues of not being able to complete the quiz. Below we’ll look at common causes and potential fixes for Wizarding World connection errors.

Can't complete Wizarding World quiz

If you’re having the issue of not being able to complete the Wizarding World quiz, so you can’t see your House results, the problem is most likely a simple case of numbers. So many players are trying to complete the same task, and the system is becoming overloaded. If you’re getting a website down message or the dreaded spinning wheel of doom, simply wait a few minutes and try again later. Popular new online games often experience this issue in their opening few days, especially if it is a franchise as popular as Harry Potter.

You may also want to try the following:

  • Check the official @WBGamesSupport Twitter account to see if the site is down for maintenance or a fix.
  • Check your own connection. Try some other online games or services. If you are having internet problems in general, switch off your device, then your router for at least one minute. Reconnect the router, then restart your machine.

Unable to connect to WB Games online services

You're in good company if you are getting the Unable to connect to WB Games online services message when trying to link Wizarding World to Hogwarts Legacy. Again, it is likely to be down to congestion as thousands of new players try to log in and connect to their Wizarding World account. The first thing you should try, which is working for many players, is restart the game. This essentially rests your queue position, so you may get lucky and get into the game. Alternatively, as stated above, it is a common symptom of excessive online traffic. You can skip this step and claim the items later, as at least then you’ll be able to play the game.

Similarly, you can try to log in first and then go to Settings and click User Interface Options, then WB Games Account. This is essentially trying to do the same thing from inside the game once you start playing. You can keep trying each time you want a break, and eventually, you’ll link them and grab your free rewards.
