Honkai Star Rail Best Gepard Build – Light Cones, Relics, & More!

He's a budding artist, too.

Gepard is one of Honkai: Star Rail's five-star male characters. He follows the path of The Preservation and is of the Ice Element. He specializes in Freezing enemies and providing the team with a significant defense boost via an AoE shield from his Ultimate, making him a direct upgrade to March 7th. Gepard is one of my favorite characters, so if you were lucky enough to pull for him, here's everything you need to know.

Best Light Cones for Gepard in Honkai Star Rail

Gepard is best paired with a Light Cone that can boost his DEF, which will increase his survivability and increase the strength of his shields. Consider using the following Light Cones:

  • Moment of Victory (five-star, best-in-slot) - Increases the wielder's DEF and Effect Hit Rate, the latter of which can boost Gepard's chances of freezing enemies. Grants an additional DEF increase when the wielder gets hit.
  • Day One of My New Life (four-star) - Increases the wielder's DEF and all allies' DMG RES.
  • Landau's Choice (four-star) - Increases the wielder's ability to taunt enemies and decreases DMG taken.
  • Amber (three-star) - Increases the wielder's DEF, plus an additional increase when their HP is under 50 percent.

Best Relics for Gepard in Honkai Star Rail

The best Relic set for Gepard is the Knight of Purity Palace, which can be farmed from the Path of Holy Hymn Cavern of Corrosion in Cloudford. The set boosts the wielder's DEF and increases the power of their shields, making it a perfect fit for Gepard.

  • Two-piece bonus: Increases DEF by 12 percent.
  • Four-piece bonus: Increases the max DMG that can be absorbed by the shield created by the wearer by 20 percent.

For Relic stats, focus on building as much DEF percent as possible to boost his shield and some Effect Hit Rate to boost his chances of Freezing enemies.

Best Planar Ornaments for Gepard in Honkai Star Rail

Gepard can use the following Planar Ornament sets. For stats, focus on Ice DMG and Energy Regen. In particular, Energy Regen is great for making his shield (locked behind his Ultimate) more accessible.

  • Pan-Galactic Commercial Enterprise - Increases the wearer's Effect Hit Rate by 10 percent. Meanwhile, the wearer's ATK increases by an amount that is equal to 25 percent of Effect Hit Rate, up to a maximum of 25 percent.
  • Belobog of the Architects - Increases the wearer's DEF by 15 percent. When the wearer's Effect Hit Rate is 50 percent or higher, the wearer gains an extra 15 percent DEF.

We recommend using Pan-Galactic Commercial Enterprise if you're struggling to increase Gepard's Effect Hit Rate. However, if you aren't building him as a Freeze debuffer or already stacked 50 percent or more in Effect Hit Rate via Relics and Light Cones, then consider Belobog of the Architects for a significant DEF boost.
