Honkai Star Rail Best Jing Yuan Build – Light Cones, Relics, & More!

The second limited character to release in Honkai: Star Rail, Jing Yuan, is one of the seven Arbiter-Generals and a leader aboard the Xianzhou Luofu. Ever the strategic thinker, he tries to solve problems before they occur, rather than respond to them. If you want to think strategically about how you might build this character, I have some advice. Here are my recommendations for the best Light Cones, Relics, and Teammates to use with Jing Yuan in Honkai: Star Rail.

Best Light Cones for Jing Yuan in Honkai Star Rail

Jing Yuan will have a Light Cone designed specifically for him called Before Dawn. It will boost his Crit damage, Skill, Ultimate, and follow-up attack damage. Although, if you want this Light Cone, it can only be obtained from the Light Cone Event Warp, which will cost Special Warp Passes to roll on. If you are a free-to-play player, your resources may be better spent saving for other characters.

Best Free to Play Light Cones for Jing Yuan

Other great Light Cones to use for Jing Yuan include Night on the Milky Way, a Five-Star Erudition Light Cone that you can eventually obtain from the Undying Starlight Shop, or luckily through the Standard Warp Banner. Make the World Clamor or The Birth of the Self are also great Four-Star options you could use. The first one in particular works well, since you should have received one free copy from the All-Stars Web Event.

Best Relics for Jing Yuan in Honkai Star Rail

There is a very clear best in slot Relic Set for Jing Yuan—the Band of Sizzling Thunder Set. It is specifically designed for damage-dealing Lightening Characters.

For his Planar Ornaments, you have several options. You could choose either the Celestial Differentiator or Inert Salsotto sets for their Crit Value Boosts. You could also go with a Space Sealing Station Set, if it is the most readily available. I personally would choose one of the first two over the latter.

What stats should you boost on Jing Yuan?

Jing Yuan is very much a traditional attacker. You'll want to emphasize Crit Values and Attack. There will be some diminishing returns on stacking too much attack on any damage dealer, and I recommend you consider using either a Speed Foot Relic piece or a Energy Regen Rate Link Rope piece to deal more damage overall.

• Body: Crit Rate or Crit Damage
• Sphere: Lightening Damage
• Rope: Energy Regen Rate or Attack%

Jing Yuan's Path and Element in Honkai Star Rail

This Xianzhou General is a Lightening Element Character who follows the Path of Erudition. His kit centers around a follow-up attack generated by the Lightening-Lord. Because of this, you'll want to prioritize leveling Jing Yuan's Talent level whenever possible.

Best Teammates for Jing Yuan in Honkai Star Rail

The most obvious teammate for Jing Yuan is Tingyun, a Harmony Character who boosts Energy Regeneration, Attack, and Lightening Damage. Other than the Foxian guide, you can pair Jing Yuan with other Lightening damage dealers, Like Arlan, or supports, like Bailu. When fighting in the Simulated Universe, he can also be used effectively with other characters who have follow-up attacks, like Himeko or March 7th.
