How does the Mycologist work in Inscryption

Science requires sacrifice.

Inscryption is a deck-building game that features many secrets, puzzles, collectibles, and NPCs for the player to find. The player will have to overcome various card matches throughout the game if they wish to survive this dark and twisted game. One NPC that will help the player is the Mycologist.

This bizarre NPC is two in one—joined at the head and obsessed with their experiments. The Mycologist will request the player's help in these experiments and ask them to give them two cards. In Act 1, the player can provide them with any card they have a double of, but in Act 2, the Mycologist will request specific cards.

The Mycologist will ask the player to look away before cutting the cards in half and joining them together. While the player only receives one card back, the card will be a stronger version of the two cards experimented on. This is a great way to boost the power of a card. There is an achievement tied to giving the Mycologist a card they have already experimented on.

In Act 1, the Mycologist must be sought out as they only appear randomly. On the game board, the Mycologist can be encountered at the mushroom symbol. The scientist appears in Act 2 at the mushroom house between the Temple of the Dead and the Temple of Beasts.
