All Stray Fairy locations in the Stone Tower – The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask (N64/Switch version)

Stray fairy, stray fairy, won't you let down your hair?

Stone Tower sits nestled within Ikana Canyon, a remnant of the once-flourishing Ikana Kingdom. The appearance of Majora's minion, Twinmold, has caused a creeping darkness to pour forth from the tower's doors, however, causing Ikana Canyon's Great Fairy to be divided into fragments and locked away in the tower. She needs a hero to rescue her fairies, and we're here to help you find them—here are all all Stray Fairy locations in the Stone Tower.

Where to find the Stone Tower Stray Fairies

Unlike their ocean-dwelling counterparts, the Stray Fairies locked away within this terrible tower glow with a yellow hue. There are 15 Stray Fairies to liberate within the Stone Tower, and their locations are as follows:

  • Default Tower - First Floor
    • One: The first fairy is stuck inside of a chest. Shoot the golden Eye Switch in the room with the Hero's Bow to make the chest appear.
    • Three: The third fairy is stuck inside of a chest. To make this chest appear, use the Mirror Shield to light up the far-left Sun Switch on the right side of the room.
    • Four: The fourth fairy is stuck inside of chest. Use the Mirror Shield to make the Sun Block disappear and reach this chest.
    • Five: The fifth fairy is stuck inside of a chest. Equip the Deku Mask and use the nearby Deku Flowers to reach this chest.
    • Six: The sixth fairy is stuck inside of a chest. Equip the Goron Mask and ground pound the button on right side of room, then step on the switch on left side of room to make this chest appear.
    • Seven: The seventh fairy is stuck inside of a chest. Defeat the Eyegore in the room to make this chest appear.
    • Twelve: The twelfth fairy is stuck inside of a chest. While the tower is upside-down, step on the switch on the left side of the room to make the chest appear. Flip the tower once more to reach this chest.
    • Thirteen: The thirteenth fairy is stuck inside of a chest. Allow the Dexihand on the right side of the room to toss Link onto the ledge, then hit the Crystal Switch with a spin attack to make the chest appear. Use Light Arrows on the Sun Block in the room to reach this chest.
    • Fifteen: The final fairy is stuck inside of a chest. While the tower is upside-down, hit the Crystal Switch in the room the make the chest appear. Flip the tower and enter the room once more to reach this chest.
  • Default Tower - Basement Floor
    • Two: The second fairy is stuck inside of a chest. Use the Hookshot to reach the ledge this chest is on.
    • Fourteen: The fourteenth fairy is stuck inside of a chest. While the tower is upside-down, use Light Arrows on the Sun Switch in the room to make this chest appear. Flip the tower and enter this room once more, then equip the Zora Mask and dive down to reach this chest.
  • Upside-Down Tower - First Floor
    • Eight: The eighth fairy is stuck inside of a chest. Use Light Arrows on the Sun Switch in the room to make this chest appear.
    • Nine: The ninth fairy is stuck inside of a chest. Shoot the golden Eye Switch with Fire Arrows to make this chest appear, then use the Deku Mask and ride the air currents to reach it.
  • Upside-Down Tower - Second Floor
    • Ten: The tenth fairy is stuck inside of a chest. Use the Deku Mask to ride the air currents up to the switch on a platform, then step on it to remove the fire ring surrounding the chest. Play the Elegy of Emptiness to leave a statue on the switch, then ride the air currents again to reach this chest.
    • Eleven: The eleventh fairy is stuck inside of a chest. Defeat the Wizrobe mini-boss to make this chest appear, then use the Hookshot to reach it.

Once you've rounded up all 15 Stray Fairies, exit Stone Tower and make your way down to the Great Fairy Fountain in Ikana Canyon. Upon entering the fountain as human Link, the fragmented fairies you've rescued will to reform the Great Fairy of Kindness in all her glory.

You'll be rewarded with the Great Fairy Sword as thanks, which is the strongest sword available in the game. Additionally, the Great Fairy Sword will remain in your inventory after returning to the First Day, giving you an edge against the forces of evil!
