To get coal in Len's Island, players will need to dive deep within the underground dungeon in the game.
Inside the Ancient caves in the game, coal can be found in large nodes with noticeable black orbs around them. Coal nodes also look similar to the stone nodes you often find but with black dots around the base.
So if you need coal, simply locate any nodes with black dots around them and mine them with a pickaxe. Upon breaking the node, you will get a small amount of coal each time, so you may need to locate more depending on what you want to craft.
You can also occasionally get coal from both barrels and chests throughout the dungeon cave. However, be wary of venturing too deep within the caves, for dangers lurk around every corner.
One of the potential dangers you encounter is the shadow monsters that spawn, so pack a weapon if you plan to go any farther. Along with protection, you should keep an eye out for both crates and barrels. As we said before, both crates and barrels will sometimes contain coal, so it's always a good idea to break them to see if that's the case.
Every bit helps, and the more coal you get, the more things you can make with it via crafting. You can also use coal to light the various lights in the cave to help see things better when exploring.
