Best Combat Style in Lies of P – Strength, Dexterity, or Balance

Decisions, decisions...

Lies of P features a challenging combat and puppet-filled Victorian world, creating a delightfully brutal environment for the player. When I first started, I had to choose my starting weapon, tying me to a particular combat style. However, I wanted to be sure I was settling into the best combat style before progressing too far in Lies of P.

Should I choose Strength, Dexterity, or Balance Combat Style in Lies of P?

Ultimately, the Path of the Bastard is the best combat style in Lies of P. The Path of the Bastard is the Dexterity-based style and uses the rapier to fight. The key to this fighting style is its speed and agility, allowing you to strike numerous times quickly while also having better speed, movement, and mobility. Evasion and proper dodging are important with The Path of the Bastard, but its starting stats are suited for this.

  • Path of the Cricket: Balanced/Saber
    • Path of the Cricket balances speed and power but excels at neither. It is beginner-friendly, as it allows you to get a feel for most attributes of Lies of P's combat and see which you prefer.
  • Path of the Bastard: Dexterity/Rapier
    • Path of the Bastard relies on reflexes and mobility, sacrificing some power. However, you can strike quickly, allowing you to mitigate some of its low damage output. It may take some time to master this combat style, but it is my top pick for the best combat style in Lies of P.
  • Path of the Sweeper: Strength/Greatsword
    • Path of the Sweeper wields the massive Greatsword of Fat, offering slow strikes but powerful blows. It has the highest damage per strike but comes with slow and lengthy attacks. You must have more patience when using this style, but you can deliver powerful combos.
