How to get the secret ending in Life is Strange: Before the Storm Remastered

Got to get it the right way around!

The Life is Strange series is all about choice and playing through the games more than once to see how many different outcomes there are. Before the Storm, the prequel to the original game, is no exception in that regard. There's even a slightly more hidden addition to the ending.

Despite Rachel's mother, Sera, seeming unwillingness to meet her daughter in the last section of the game, it is still possible to get the two to finally see each other. There are two particular paths that you can take to get Rachel and Sera to meet. We'll walk you through both.

If You Chose a Kiss (or a Tattoo) Over a Bracelet

If you chose not to take Rachel's bracelet in Episode 2: Brave New World, then don't fret, as there is still a way to have the two meet.

When at The Old Mill in the final episode, Chloe will get into a fight with Damon that will go badly. Frank will then intervene, and when Chloe wakes up, only Sera will be there. The two will then have a talk about what Chloe should tell Rachel regarding the situation.

In order to still convince Sera to meet her daughter, you will need to choose these specific lines of dialogue in the order they are written. These are the responses to what Sera says to Chloe:

  1. You know my name
  2. Know about what?
  3. I don't understand
  4. She deserves to meet you
  5. Everybody's broken
  6. I lost my father
  7. Rachel needs you
  8. I thought my Dad was perfect
  9. Don't leave

Sera will still leave The Old Mill at the end of the conversation, but the seed will have been planted for her to show up at the end of the game by the lighthouse.

In order for this to happen, you will also have to tell Rachel everything when given the opportunity in the hospital. If you are not honest with her, then she will never find out about what her father has done to try and keep Sera away, which will once again create distance between the mother and daughter.

If You Chose the Bracelet

Choosing the bracelet will make it slightly easier to unlock the secret ending where Sera shows up. It comes in handy at the end of the conversation that is had between Chloe and Sera at The Old Mill.

Instead of choosing don't leave as Sera is walking out of the door, the option to give her Rachel's bracelet will be there as well at the top of the dialogue dial.

After handing the bracelet over to Sera, she will recount how she gave it to Rachel when she was a baby. Recalling this memory encourages Sera to show up to the lighthouse at the end of the game.

This still assumes that Chloe told Rachel everything in the hospital. In either of the situations, bracelet or no, James Amber is a big block where meeting Sera is concerned, so you have to reveal him as the mean person that he is for Rachel to still want to meet her real mother.

By going through the dialogue options provided, you will end up with a warm, fuzzy ending to a heavy game (well, a warm, fuzzy ending before the actual dark ending that precedes the original Life is Strange...).
