Lords of the Fallen dual-wielding build guide

Dual-Weild like a pro!

When choosing the best starting class, weapons, or even stats you should focus on in Lords of the Fallen, you'll first want to determine what build you're going for. Building a mage will require putting stats into spellcasting skills like Radiance and Inferno, but building a character that dual-wields is an entirely different story. We have all the details on what weapons, stats, and classes you should focus on to build the perfect dual-wielding crusader. Keep reading below!

Best dual-wielding builds in Lords of the Fallen

Dual-wielding is all about paring two great weapons together and utilizing them simultaneously on your enemies. However, to do so effectively, you're going to want to make sure you have the best possible skills, armor, and weapons for the job.

Best classes for dual-wielding builds

When choosing a class for a dual-wield build, the biggest factor you'll want to take into account is the Agility stat. You'll want to be capable of slashing at an opponent with precise, consecutive hits. You'll also want to focus on Endurance, which will help you be able to carry more without being weighed down. It will also keep your Stamina high, thus playing into that speed factor. Below are the classes best for dual-wielding.

Exiled Stalker

The Exiled Stalker is by far the best class you can choose as a dual-wielder, which is probably obvious from the character starting with two blades. This is because they have a high Agility stat, the highest out of all other classes. Plus, they have a balanced Vitality and Endurance, focusing more on survivability and speed than anything else.

Blackfeather Ranger

Since the Exiled Stalker is considered a more advanced class, the other perhaps simpler class I suggest for a dual-wielder is the Blackfeather Ranger. Like the Stalker, they focus mainly on Agility aspects, but they begin with more points into Strength, which the Stalker lacks.

Best stats for dual-wielding builds

As mentioned in class selection above, one of the best factors for a dual-wield build is speed. While you may want to try and keep a healthy balance of stats for your character as you progress, there are certain skills you'll want to focus on more than others to get the best results for your build.

Agility

The Agility stat determines your physical attack and increases your damage, as well as handling, with finesse weapons. This skill is the bread and butter of a dual-wield build and is usually a requirement for all the best weapons you'll want to use.

Endurance

Endurance is another necessity for this build because it determines your stamina total and regen and will also factor into your encumbrance and weight. Putting points into this skill will allow you to carry more without sacrificing as much mobility. Since you're holding two weapons instead of one, having a higher Endurance will help a lot with remaining nimble, despite the weight of both.

Best armor for dual-wielding builds

When trying to decide what type of armor you want to equip for your dual-wield build, I would keep a close eye on your Encumbrance. The more weight you put on, the less speed you will have when swinging your weapon and dodging. Sticking to light armor as much as you can will help continue that swift and deadly approach.

Descrier Guide Armor Set

The Descrier Guide set is one of the best light armor sets you can get pretty early on in the game. In my experience, it's perfect for a dual-wield build because it barely weighs a thing, allowing your Encumbrance to stay low while still providing well-rounded mitigation and resistance. You can get the full set in the lower levels of Skyrest Bridge within a chest in the crypt (the torch-lined bridge area).

Princess Sting Pendant

A special armor item you can also find near the Skyrest Bridge crypt area, you'll need to use your Umbral Lamp to head through the barred gate to reach it. This item is a must for light armor builds like a dual-wield since it allows you to deal more damage the less weight and encumbrance you have.

Best weapons for dual-wielding build

It doesn't matter too much what weapons you choose to dual-wield unless of course you're attempting to dual-wield two-handed grand swords, which might be a little difficult. You can use two short swords, two daggers, or even mix and match. However, I find the best weapons to use are daggers. These light, quick-swinging weapons will allow you to hit your opponent multiple times without even missing a stride. Below are some of the best daggers you can get.

Neophyte Dagger

The Neophyte Dagger weighs a mere 2.0 and combines Wither with physical to deal a decent amount of damage, slowly eating away at your opponent's health with each hit. What I like about this weapon is how easy it is to find it: you can purchase it from Exacter Dumire right in Skyrest Bridge for 600 Vigor.

Skinstealer Knife

One of the very best assassin or dual-wield blades in the whole game. It not only weighs even less than the Neophyte Blade, but it deals fire damage and makes enemies bleed on each successful hit. You can get it from the Skinstealer boss fight or by purchasing it from Thehk-Ihir after speaking to him next to the Path of Devotion's Vestige of Dieter.

These are just a few ways you can build up a great dual-wield character in Lords of the Fallen, but there are plenty of other paths you can take as well. If you aren't too worried about weight and speed, try putting more points into Strength and going for a dual-katana medium armor build instead. There are also plenty of other weapons and armor sets you'll find in the world that may work better for you as well, so always keep your eyes peeled.
