Lost Lands 4: The Wanderer Full Walkthrough, bonus chapter
Each Lost Lands bonus chapter takes a look at an adjacent story that helps fill in some background. In the Lost Lands 4 bonus chapter walkthrough, we take the role of Corko, who makes a scary discovery while trying to extend his burrow.
If you arrived here looking for the main part of the game, don’t worry. Simply click here to go to my Lost Lands 4 Walkthrough hub, which has full solutions to all the puzzles in the main game, separated into four parts.
The way home
Take the Collectible (a1) and the Club (a2), then take the Machette and Belt from the skeleton (a3). In the same skeleton close-up, click its sleeve to remove a slab and find a Fin. Add the fin to the shark on the wall (a4), then click it once attached to reveal a secret door and go through to the ancient bathhouse.
Grab the Collectibe (b1), then select the door on the left (b2) to start a simple missing objects puzzle. Once complete, take the Key. Now, use the club on the pulley (b3) and turn it. It will break, so use the belt to fix it. After the cut scene, open the bag (b4) and take the Fragment. Return to the temple complex, use the fragment to complete the wall image (a5), and then move into the corridor.
The Collectible is on the wall on the right (c1). Take the Rope (c2), then click the wood (c3) to start a timing game. You just need to click right when the slider is near the green lines. You can’t go wrong, as there is no limit to attempts. Once complete, move the wood pieces and then the rope pieces until you get the Ladder. Use the machete to grab some Moss (c4), then use the ladder (c2) to move on.
Releasing Susan
After picking up the Collectible (d1), use the machete to open the bag (d2) and take the Garden Shears and Nails. Select the box (d3) and take a Lock Part, then head outside (d4).
Take the Collectible (e1) from above the shed door, but there’s nothing else to do here right now. Instead, click the background (e2) to move on to the river bank.
You’ll find the Collectible on the path (f1). Select the earth (f2) and click it again to dig up a second Lock Part. Now head into the river (f3).
Grab the Collectible above the window (g1), then click the sand around the chest (g2), take the Weight, and then move on to the opposite shore (g5).
You can discover the Collectible at the base of the ship mast signpost (h1). Use the garden shears to get some Hot Peppers (h2), then get a close-up of the well (h3) and take the third Lock Part.
Return to the burrow, click the box (d3), and start a placement puzzle using the lock parts. Get the pieces into the order shown above, then click the padlock. Take the Ball of Yarn. Select the peppers in your inventory, add the yarn, and then add the weight to get a Pepper and Weight.
Return to the sea, use the pepper and weight on the creature’s mouth, and it will release Susan (g4). Click her to take Susan’s Body into your inventory, and also take the Compass. Return to the burrow and place Susan on the hammock (d3). Now talk to Loon, after which she’ll give you the Bas-relief Part.
Ancient Civilization
Go back into the temple corridor and add the bas-relief part to the design on the floor (c5), then take the Branch. Now head to the temple complex and use the branch on the picture of the tree (a6), clicking it again to reveal a new door. Head through it to the swamp.
Pick up the Collectible (i1), and the Hammer (i2), then select the tree (i3) and add the nails. Hammer them in, then click the hanging rock (i4) and use the machete to cut the rope, replacing the rock with a chest. Use the key to open the chest and take the Mosaic Part, tasking a Vine in the same close-up.
Now, you can select the gate (i5) and add the mosaic part to the door mechanism, starting a puzzle. The completed image is pictured above. You need to move sections into the left and right slots to rearrange their order on the two outer circles to complete the image correctly. Once done, the gate will open. Head through to the Elogan village.
Take the Collectible from the tree (j1) and the Lever Key from the wooden statue (j2). Move forward into the chieftain’s home (j3).
The magic meadow
Speak to Taulinn, show him the compass, and he’ll give you the Chieftan’s Staff. Now take the Collectible (k1), move the cushions (k2) to take the Mortar, then use the lever key on the tach below the cushions and take the Hook. Now get a close-up of the book (k3), take the Snake, then click the book and note the three symbols. To free up space in your inventory, you can add the snake to the chair (k4) while you’re here.
Head outside and use the chieftain’s staff on the forcefield (j4). Trace out the three symbols you saw in the book (k3, image above) to open the forcefield. It doesn’t matter where you start as you draw each one, but you do need to go top to bottom in the rune image order. Once complete, move through to the magic meadow (j4).
Pick up the Collectible (l1), get the Ship Figurine from the bowl (l2), then get a close-up of the ancient slab (l3) and click it again at the top to read the inscription. You’re going to need some magic dust.
Return to the river bottom and use the ship figurine to pen the chest (g2), taking the Precious Battle Axe from inside. Read the note that’s also inside, then take the Stardust. Go to the riverbank next and use the axe to get some Bamboo (f4). Select the bamboo in your inventory and use the axe to shorten it. Now add the hook and the vine to make a Staff. Head to the swamp and use the staff in the pond (i6) to collect the Lotus.
Making the ritual ointment
Go back to the Elogan village and place the lotus in the lower hand of the wooden statue (j2). The wooden lotus, on the other hand, will open, allowing you to take the Eagle (don’t forget to take back the Lotus Petals). Head back to the magic meadow and use the stardust on the wave symbol on the ancient slab (l3). It will break open, allowing you to take the Recipe and the Wolf.
Go back inside the chieftain’s home and add the remaining symbols (eagle and wolf) to the back of the chair (k4), revealing a constellation puzzle. Simply drag the constellations on the right to the matching shapes on the left to complete it (you can’t go wrong). Once done, take the Elixir and the Sickle. Put the recipe on the preparation table (k5) and add the moss and the lotus petals to the bowls in the same close-up.
Head to the magic meadow, select the large tree (l4), then add the mortar before using the sickle on the tree to collect a Cup of Resin. Also, go back to the sea and pick up some Seashells (g6).
Return to the prep table (k5), add the cup of resin, then click the hot plate and then each bowl to add them to the resin. Add the seashells to the mortar, use the pestle on the table to crush them, and then stir the mixture with the spoon. Add the elixir, then pick up the Ritual Ointment.
Go to the sea, select the throne for a close-up (g7), and use the ointment to start a puzzle. Click lines to fill them in, leaving out only the lines on your pattern (see the glowing lines of the completed puzzle above). The water spirit will then appear on the throne, so click it for a cut scene. Afterward, take the Fish Figurine from the throne.
Healing the pond
Head to the river bank and use the fish figurine to open the chest behind the bamboo (f4), taking the Mallet from inside. Go to the magic meadow, use the mallet on the gong (l5), then select the cave that opens up under the pedestal (l2) to start a simple item-matching puzzle. Once complete, you’ll be able to take a Crystal.
Use the crystal on the door blocking the cave entrance (j5) and head into the dragon mouth cave. Grab the Collectibe (m1), use the axe on the stones (m2) to get a Magnet Stone, then use the axe again on the rock over the fire (m3) to knock it down, giving you an entrance into the pond. Click it (m4), take the Handle in the close-up, and also move the rock there into the hole. Once you click out of the close-up, talk to Taulin and he will give you the Jaw.
Return to the temple complex and use the jaw on the skull on the floor (a7) to gain access to the tomb. Head down, take the Collectible (n1), and the Torch (n2), and then use the knife to unstrap the box (n3) and take the Cart. Go back to the pond (m4) and use the torch in the close-up to get a Lit Torch.
Add the handle to the pipe (b5) in the ancient bathhouse, filling the bowl with hot oil. Use the lit torch to light it, noting the symbols that appear on the glass (above). Go back to the tomb, get a close-up of the sarcophagus, and enter the symbols to open it. Click it again to get the Iron Medallion. Select it in your inventory and add the magnet stone to create a Magnet on a Chain.
Finding the Ruler’s Helmet
Move to the corridor and use the magnet on a chain on the grate (c6) to get the Key. Now head to the yard and use the cart on the broken wagon (e3). Put the wagon together (all the pieces are in the image) and then click the completed cart to move it out of the way and gain access to the barn.
Take the final Collectible (o1), click the ladder (o2) to stand it up, and use the key on the door at the top (o3) to start a hidden objects puzzle. To free the blade, click the bottom blade twice, then the right blade twice, then the top blade twice. Once you have the stencil, you need to use it to block the ceiling hatch. Once complete, you’ll get the Tongs. Also, click the workbench (o4) to find you need chicken egg shells and sand to make the cement you need.
Go to the outskirts, use the tongs on the chain on the well (h3), and then click the doors to open it. Wind the rope up and take the Bucket. Now go to the yard and use the becket on the sand (e4) to get a Bucket of Sand, also taking the Tree Figurine. Return to the temple, use the figurine on the throne (n5), and take the Ruler’s Helmet.
Saving Susan
Give it to the chieftain in his house (k4) and you’ll receive the Seal. Use the seal to open the chest (k6), take the Key from inside, and read the note. After looking at the note, take the Mourner’s Tears. Go outside and use the key to open the chicken coup (j6), click all the eggs, and then take the Basket. Select the bucket in your inventory, add the eggs, and make the Cement.
Go to the pool and use the cement to block the hole (m4). Move to the sea, speak to the water spirit (g7), and take the Chip from the throne. Return to the magic meadow, click the pedestal (l2), and add the chip to its side to start a light puzzle. You need to copy the image on the chip (see the solution above, noting the different number of lines coming from each tile). Once complete, take the Philosopher’s Stone.
Add the tears to the bowl here, then the philosopher’s stone, and take the Energy. Return to your burrow, use the energy on Susan (d3), and congratulations! You’ve completed the bonus chapter of Lost Lands 4.
