There are few surprise events in the gaming industry that garner Nintendo Directs' attention. Nintendo's fabled showcases often share surprise announcements and release plans from the famous game company. This showcase shared Nintendo's plans for the first half of 2022, with some reveals shocking viewers. One reveal users were not expecting was another addition to the Mario Strikers franchise.
Mario Strikers: Battle League launches exclusively for the Nintendo Switch on June 10, 2022. Players can again take control of their favorite Mario characters in five on five high-octane soccer matches.
With online, powerful attack types, and special moves for each iconic character, there's plenty of fun to be had for up to eight players online with local play supported as well. There are plans for a ranked mode in Mario: Strikers: Battle League for those looking to test their mettle against other players.
