That said, keep reading below for an in-depth tutorial on how to make Healing potions in Minecraft.

How to make Healing potions

To make a healing potion, you will first need a brewing stand, which you can craft in the game with the following recipe above. After you have a brewing stand up and running, you will need the following materials below to start brewing healing potions.

  • Melon Slices
  • Gold Nuggets
  • Blaze Rod
  • Water Bottle

The first material you will need is the Blaze rod so that you can make Blaze powder to power the stand. To make the power, just put a rod inside a crafting table and pull the material out from the crafting output when it shows up.

But if you don't know where to get Blaze rods, you can get them from Blazes in the Nether. Next, you will need to get Nether warts, which, if you didn't know already by the name, are also found inside the Nether, inside what are called Nether fortresses. So if you need to hunt Blazes, be sure to check Nether fortresses for these warts.

After getting Nether warts, you will need Melon Slices to make into Glistering Melons next. You can obtain Melon Slices from harvesting Melon plants. If you don't have any Melon on hand, you can find some over in jungle biomes and savanna villages.

When you get some slices, you can then make them into Glistering Melons, but you will need gold nuggets to do it. The nuggets can be obtained from mining gold, crafting them into ingots, and then into the nuggets by placing them in a crafting table. Once you get the nuggets, put them in the following pattern above with a Melon slice to make them into Glistering Melons.

After nuggets and melons, you will need a water bottle, and to craft a water bottle, you will first need to prepare a glass bottle. To craft a bottle, you will need three glass blocks in both the top right and left slots in a crafting table and the third in the middle space. Then take the glass bottle to a water source like a pond or river and right-click to fill it.

Once you get a water bottle that will be the last of the resources, you will need to make healing potions. When you have all of these materials, place them in the following order to make a healing potion.

First, place the Blaze powder in the slot, as shown above, wait for it to melt, and then move on to the next step.

After the Blaze powder has melted, place the water bottle in the left slot and the wart in the top space and wait for them to get done.

Once the wart finishes cooking, move on to the melon and place it in the same space as you did with the Nether wart. Then after the Glistering melon is done, you will have made one healing potion. If you want to turn it into a splash potion, place the healing potion where you put the water bottle last and one gunpowder in the top slot.
