How to make a secret door in Minecraft?

Keep it a secret!

Sometimes, you will come across certain valuable items and treasures in Minecraft that you would like to keep safe in a preferred location. In such instances, you can take the help of a secret door to guard and protect such items. To construct a hidden door in Minecraft, you will need a lot of ingredients like Pressure plates, Sticky Pistons, Redstone Dust, and much more.

All materials required to craft a secret door in Minecraft

To construct a secret door, you will require the following items.

  • Stone Blocks
  • Redstone Torch
  • Grass Blocks
  • Redstone Repeater
  • Pressure Plates
  • Sticky Pistons
  • Redstone Dust

Construction of a secret door in Minecraft

After acquiring all the prescribed materials, follow the given steps.

To start, place a total of six Sticky Pistons, as shown in the below image. Three pistons on the left side and the other three on the right side with 4 blocks of space between them. Make sure to place the green side of the piston facing each other.

Take some Stone Blocks and place them in front of the Sticky Pistons. The blocks will act us as our secret door.

Place two Redstone Torch on the bottom side of both pistons. After placing them, the bottom part of the stone door will get triggered.

Now, to trigger the upper two blocks. Place a Stone Block on the middle part of either side of Sticky Pistons, as shown in the image below.

Smear some Redstone Dust on the newly placed Stone Blocks to trigger all the remaining Sticky Pistons.

Now, dig a small 3*2 Blocks wide hole below your door. The depth of the hole should be two blocks

Apply Redstone Dust on the newly dug hole to connect the sectors.

Now, dig two more mini-hole inside the same hole to place the Redstone Repeater on either side and also apply some Redstone Dust for further connectivity. The image only shows a hole on one end. You must dig an exact hole on the opposite side too.

Climb up and fill the holes in front of the door with Grass Blocks.

Place two Pressure Plates in front of the door, the plates will act as a secret key to activate the door.

Place more Stone Blocks or any other materials to disguise the secret door.
