To make grass grow in Minecraft, you will need to make bonemeal and use it on the grass. Bonemeal is a special item that players can make from bones. You can get bones from skeleton mobs, but that takes time and only is useful if you have a mob farm.
Because of that, you should, and we highly recommend making a composter. A composter is a special Minecraft block that allows players to turn various items into a bonemeal.
You can make a composter with seven wood slabs placed in all slots, except the top middle and middle slots of a crafting table. If you don't know how to make wooden slabs, just place three wood planks in all bottom slots, and you will be good to go.
Once you got the slabs, make the composter, and when you get the composter, you will be able to make bonemeal by putting any of the following materials inside it until it is full.
- Apples
- Potatoes
- Carrots
- Dried Kelp
- Ferns
- Grass
- Lily Pads
- Flowers
- Warped Roots
- Bread
- Cookies
- Melon slices
- Pumpkin
- Seeds
- Beetroot
- Berries
- Weeping Vines
- Warped Fungus
- Mushrooms blocks
- Kelp
- Catus
- Saplings
- Crimson Fungus
- Crimson Roots
After filling the composter up with materials, you will get bonemeal, which can then be used to make grass grow by right-clicking with the mouse or using the use key on the grass.
