Minecraft: How to make Poison Arrows in Minecraft?

Here's everything players need to know about how to make poison arrows in Minecraft

To make poison arrows in Minecraft, you will need one potion of lingering potion of poison and at least eight arrows. When you get all of the materials, you will need to place the potion and arrows inside a crafting table using the pattern shown in the image above.

But before you can do this, you will need to go through the steps to make both arrows and Lingering Potion of Poison in Minecraft. Starting with the arrows, you can make arrows with the materials listed below.

  • One Stick - You can make sticks from wood planks.
  • One Flint - mining gravel can get you flint.
  • One Feather - Chickens can get you feathers.

Place these materials starting with flint, followed by the stick, and then feather to make arrows - simple and easy, right?

Now for the harder part, which is the potion. In short, you will need to start off with making a regular potion of poison, which requires one nether wart, a spider eye, and one water bottle - you will also need blaze powder to power a brewing stand.

To get a nether wart and blaze powder, you will need to go to the Nether. Nether warts can be found growing in farms near nether fortresses, and blaze powder can be made from blaze rods you can get from blazes at these same fortresses.

For the spider eye, you will need to slay a spider - we recommend using a sword enchanted with looting to increase the chances of monster items dropping. When you got everything you need, place it in the brewing stand, starting with the wart and then the eye to make a Potion of Poison.

Once it finishes cooking, take the new potion of poison and place it in the brewing stand and one red stone dust to turn it into a potion of poison of 2 minutes.

You will then need to take this potion and repeat the same step, but this time with gunpowder, this will in turn, make a splash potion of poison. Now take this splash potion, and throw it into the brewing stand with one potion of dragon's breath.

Dragon's breath is a rare item that can only be obtained by gathering it from the ender dragon with a water bottle when it breathes its purple flames.

If you haven't fought the ender dragon when you do, just bring a couple of water bottles and try to get as many of them filled with the purple flames as possible. Doing so will allow you to complete the recipe for poison arrows in Minecraft.

That said, complete the recipe by adding dragon's breath instead of gun powder to make a lingering potion of poison. You can then use this potion to make poison arrows by following the recipe at the start of this guide.
