How to complete ‘maybe I should try a new bat’ mystery mission in MLB The Show 22 Diamond Dynasty

Try a new bat?

The new goals for Mini-Season in MLB: The Show 22 Diamond Dynasty have been released. Two of the goals are mystery missions called "Maybe I should try a new bat" and "Should have stretched first." The "Maybe I should try a new bat" mission rewards a Legend Bat Skin Choice Pack, so how can you complete it?

The Mystery mission requires you to groundout to a double-play six times in the mini-season. This may seem pretty simple, but setting up a double play for yourself can be a challenge.

If you want to complete the mission quickly, you should have contact hitters followed by players with low contact in the batting order. Get a single with one player, then have the next player hit a ground ball to start the double-play.

To hit a ground ball, make bad contact with the ball and make sure your cursor is slightly above the ball when you swing. If done correctly, chances are you will hit a weak ground ball straight to a defender.

After giving up six double-plays throughout the course of the mini-season, you will earn the Legend Bat Skin Choice Pack, which is great for your Road to the Show player. The "Maybe I should try a new bat" mission only lasts until May 31st at 12:00 PST, so try to complete it while you can.
