You can craft a wide range of armor and weapons, so here I’ll discuss the best armor sets and how to get them in MH now.

Monster Hunter Now Armor Sets - How to Get Guide

The only way to increase the number of armor sets available to you in Monster Hunter Now is to follow the main story quest. This is because each armor set is tied to finding items from different monster types. At the end of each chapter, you’ll usually face a new type of monster. Once defeated, this monster will become available on your map and its armor set will be added to your available crafting items. The more different monsters you fight, the more armor sets are available. But don’t worry, as there is no one best armor set.

Best armor sets in MH Now

There is no one best armor set in MH Now for a number of reasons. The most important is that each set’s pieces can have differing abilities so it is usually better to mix and match. Secondly, some armor pieces give bonuses to special abilities that are tied to specific weapons. So if you’re using a weapon with Poison Coating, armor that increases Poison damage is a must but could be useless for another player. Another example is Recoil Down items, which are great for Bowgun users, but no one else.

Also, some give resistance to damage types you won’t always face, so you may want to build sets to put on for specific battles. That all said though, if you want great armor sets that are not weapon or damage-type specific, I’ve put a couple together below.

Best armor set for offense

If you worry more about staying alive in a slower battle, I recommend this set:

  • Headgear: Kulu Headpiece (Lock on allows you to target specific areas to do more damage up close, while it also gets Critical Eye at Grade 4, which increases Affinity)
  • Mail: Jagras Mail (has Rising Tide, which increases your damage output if the timer is running out
  • Gloves: Girros Vambraces (Sneak Attack, which increases damage from behind)
  • Belt/Coil: Jagras Coil (You’ll get increased damager after each time you revive in a battle thanks to Fortify)
  • Trousers/Greaves: Kulu Greaves (Has Critical Eye from Grade 2, which gives you extra Affinity damage)

Best armor set for defense

If you want other fights done quickly, relying on your ability to dodge, this is a strong set:

  • Headgear: Barroth Helm (Defense Boost increases Defense by 20-100, while sword and shield wielders also get Offensive Guard)
  • Mail: Kulu Mail (Has Guts, which gives you a chance to avoid lethal damage once in each battle)
  • Gloves: Luma Vambraces (Divine Blessing at Grade 4, which can reduce damage from incoming attacks. Also has Concentration, which buffs Special Skill gauge fill rate)
  • Belt/Coil: Barroth Coil (Defense Boost increases Defense by 20-100, while sword and shield wielders also get Guard)
  • Trousers/Greaves: Pukei Greaves (Health Boost raises your HP, while it also has Poison Resistance from Grade 4)
