The Kulu-Ya-Ku's most prominent weakness is its aversion to water. If you don't have a weapon with the water element, fire, thunder, ice, or dragon elements are viable options, as this monster has no elemental resistances.

When using an elemental weapon, be sure to focus your attacks on the Head, Torso, Foreleg, and Tail, as striking here will impact the Kulu-Ya-Ku the most.

Depending on your quest, you can get different rewards to forge armor and weapons, but each has a drop rate percentage, ultimately RNG. It is pure luck what you receive.

  • There are multiple ways of gaining items
    • You can carving three times once the monster is dead.
    • You can capture the monster instead of killing it.
      • Or carving the broken appendage of said monster.
    • From looting the drops from the monster

Most monsters have breakable parts, and Kulu-Ya-Ku is no different. Aim for the Head and Foreleg of the Kulu-Ya-Ku repeatedly to knock pieces of the beast off. If you can break pieces off of your prey during the hunt, you will earn extra rewards after completing the quest.
