MultiVersus is a fun, free-to-play game that brings together all your favorite childhood characters in a fighting game. The MultiVersus 1.0 update was followed by an extended period of open beta versions as the developers experimented with various features before settling on a common theme for release on May 28, 2024.

The 1.0 version of MultiVersus is focusing on performance and aesthetics as the game transitions to Unreal Engine 5, aiming to provide players with the most visually pleasing experience possible.

MultiVersus currently has 23 characters planned for launch, with more to be revealed as the game approaches its release date. These characters all have various classes that heavily affect the gameplay.

All MultiVersus 1.0 arenas

MultiVersus 1.0, with the premiere of its trailer, emphasizes the fact that we will get to see plenty of new and beloved maps from all the shows we've watched. This will allow us to experience the game with a familiar backdrop.

The arenas will be a regularly cycled theme within the game, updated with each new release to ensure players never get bored of playing in the same setting.

MultiVersus 1.0 netcode and rewards update

The developers have also reworked their online platform from scratch by rewriting their netcode from the ground up to provide you with the most seamless online gaming experience, regardless of who you play the game with.

Upon winning, you are set to indulge in a PvE system filled with rewards and progression to satisfy all of your competitive needs.

If you played the online beta of MultiVersus 1.0, you will retain all the Battle Pass tokens and Gleamium for the game's launch. If you haven't played the game or don't have any Gleamium, don't worry. Now you'll be able to earn Gleamium in-game to purchase numerous new skins and cosmetics to make yourself stand out from the crowd.

To summarize, MultiVersus 1.0 is a significant overhaul of the game. While I only touched on the main aspects to expect, there are several confirmed balancing and combat changes coming to the game. You can expect significant changes to every aspect of the game since you last played. All of this isn't too far away.
