With another year ending, the Game Awards show returns to round out the year, celebrating some of the best debuts in 2021. After the COVID-19 lockdown halted in-person events, the show is back to its regular showcase, and the event is just around the corner.
The 8th Annual Game Awards premiers Dec. 9, 2021, at 5:30 pm PST/8:30 pm EST. There will be 30 awards given out in celebration of the year's acclaimed titles. Each category is listed below in the order of presentation during the Nov. 16, 2021 Nominees Announcement event.

As always, the Best Game Direction and Game of the Year Awards appear for the show's end, but the rest of the show's presentation order is subject to change.
According to Game Awards host Geoff Keighley, viewers can expect "double-digit" new game announcements with over 50 games to appear during the Game Awards in "some capacity." The Game Awards show is sure to be one of the biggest news days of the year in the gaming industry.
