When does Fortnite Chapter 3 start? Sources say December 2021

The end is nigh...?

If you're at all familiar with the Fortnite community on Twitter, you're likely aware of the hype around the rumor that the next season of Fortnite will not be Chapter 2 Season 9 like we all expected. Instead, in the first week of December 2021, we may face a few days of Fortnite downtime as they switch over to an entirely new chapter.

Additional info has been released since our original report on this last week, when we mentioned the calculated answers from Epic Games employees. What we gathered from those responses was that the answer is a convicting "Maybe." With the newest information spreading fast across Twitter, we have pushed the needle from "Unconfirmed" to "Basically Confirmed".

Popular Fortnite leaker @Hypex seems to have additional inside information about the upcoming season, beyond what was originally known in previous weeks. They state with all-but-proven conviction that Fortnite Chapter 2 will surrender to a black hole from Dec. 5, 2021 to Dec. 7, 2021 to pave the way for Chapter 3. In their tweet, Hypex also hints about knowing insider information forthcoming in the next chapter, further justifying the rumor.

That all being said, it's still possible for this to be a farce. At the end of the tweet, Hypex suggests that they'll take the blame if the sources are wrong. Hopefully, that's not the case!
