Again, yes, you can get Roblox on Nintendo Switch, but not through traditional means. Unlike many popular titles that are downloadable via the Nintendo eShop, Roblox doesn’t appear as a native app on the platform. Instead, you can access Roblox on your Switch using a DNS-tweak method.

By changing your Internet Settings and using a custom DNS, you can bypass not having a Roblox Nintendo Switch app. Additionally, this DNS workaround is safe, requiring no third-party software or jailbreaking your device.

How to play Roblox on Nintendo Switch

To play Roblox on Switch, you need to modify your Nintendo Switch’s internet settings to use a custom DNS. It requires a stable Wi-Fi connection, a Roblox account, and a few minutes to complete the setup. Follow these steps:

  1. On your Nintendo Switch home screen, navigate to the System Settings menu.
  2. Under the Internet Settings, select your current Wi-Fi network and change the settings from automatic to manual DNS configuration.
  3. Input the primary DNS as 045.055.142.122. This DNS is designed to trigger a SwitchBRU DNS redirection page when the connection fails.
  4. After saving the settings, your Switch will try to connect using the custom DNS and eventually redirect you to the SwitchBRU DNS page.
  5. Open the built-in web browser, go to Google, and log into your Roblox account. This lets you access Roblox directly from your Switch browser.
  6. When you’re done playing, return to the Internet Settings and revert the DNS configuration to Automatic.

This method lets you play Roblox on Switch with minimal fuss. Do note that the performance can vary, and some features might not be as responsive. Nevertheless, having access is better than not having anything at all.

As of now, there hasn’t been any official announcement regarding a native Roblox app for the Nintendo Switch 2. While Roblox CEO Dave Baszucki has expressed interest in expanding to various consoles, including potentially upcoming handhelds like the Switch 2, nothing has been confirmed.

There is no official information on a Roblox Switch 2 release date, and if you’re wondering whether you can play Roblox on Switch 2, the safest bet is to assume that the current workaround using DNS on the original Nintendo Switch will continue to be your best bet until an official launch is confirmed.

Why isn't Roblox on Nintendo Switch

Many users on various forums aren't sure if Roblox is on Switch eShop. The answer to that is No, and there are a couple of reasons behind this. First, there have been concerns related to performance and compatibility. The Nintendo Switch’s operating system and available hardware present are not quite compatible with the Roblox ecosystem. As a result, any official version will require significant optimization, thus not very cost-effective.

Additionally, from the looks of it, Nintendo itself appears less interested in bringing Roblox to its platform. This could be due to the relatively niche appeal and the technical hurdles involved in porting such a vast game to a console that favors much simpler titles.
