Oxenfree 2 is an indie point-and-click adventure game with a dark, intriguing storyline, exciting achievements, and some unique communications mechanics that help make it shine. When you start, though, it can be a little daunting. There aren't many hints at what to do, and I found there was quite a bit of click and hope! Once you've met Jacob, you need to head to Camber Cape and set up the transmitter. If you're stuck on what to do, read on to see how to place the first transmitter in Oxenfree 2.
Oxenfree II - How to get past the locked gate to place the first transmitter
Follow Jacob up the hill until you get to the locked gate. You don’t need to examine the gate and the barbed wire at all, but you can if you like. Either way, you need to walk back a few steps and click the rock face (marked on the image above) to climb up. There isn't the usual white dot to interact with. Once up, you can click to the above-right of the gate to jump across, then up again to climb up to the path on the other side.

Once on the path, you’ll need to go back down the path on that side to open the gate and let Jacob through. You need to do this, as you won’t be able to place the transmitter without Jacob being there with you.
Where to place the first transmitter
Once you’re reunited with Jacob, head up to the top of Camber Cape and as far left as you can go. Once you’re at the end, click below-left of the shelter to climb down onto the small cliff edge (see above). Once here, Evelyn will contact you again and explain how to place the transmitter. Move the dot around the rid until it turns blue (for me, it was in the top-left corner of the mini-screen), and that’s it. The first transmitter is placed!Â
