How to cut the Pacific Drive Dumpster Pearl

While the Friendly Dumpster provides you with such a thoughtful gift that supposedly hides a lot of precious materials inside, it doesn't really explain how to open it. Instead, I'll explain how to cut the Pacific Drive Dumpster Pearl.

For starters, I did test out several ways before I actually found the solution. The first time I got a Pearl was in front of the Can Opener anomaly. I thought I was being very clever when I placed it in its path. However, it did nothing other than almost slice me in half while I was picking it back up.

While the Scrappers work magic on cars and electronics, they aren't going to cut it for the Pearl. However, there is a solution in the form of the Matter Deconstructor, a garage device that recycles items.

You can get the Deconstructor through the Fabricator on the Garage tab. As soon as you have the Scanning Antenna unlocked, you can focus on unlocking it, as it will be very useful to you, not just for opening the Pearl. To make it, you need to have:

  • A Craft Mat unlocked and researched Gear
  • Scrap Metal x35
  • Gear x4
  • Electronics x4

Once you have it placed in the garage, put the Dumpster Pearl into the device inventory slot and watch as precious materials rain to the floor. You will get a lot of stuff like scrap metal, steel sheets, duct tape, canned food, and even decals, which you can use to decorate your car.
