Say no to theft!

Pacific Drive - How to defend against Pickpockets

It's a nuisance to deal with any kind of anomaly while you're collecting materials or trying to complete quests in the zone, but it becomes a full-on feud when a Pickpocket takes an item that you've put in hard work to make or harvest. Thankfully, there are some ways you can prevent this from happening.

How to protect your car from theft in Pacific Drive

No object is off limits to the Pickpockets. They will not hesitate to grab onto a headlight or even a car door and yank it right off. You'll want to use the LIMpulse Emitter to prevent that from happening. You can unlock it from the Fabrication Station and equip it to your ability slots within your car.

Copper Wire x4

Plasma x2

With the LIMpulse Emitter equipped, press the key bound to the ability at the precise time when the Pickpocket approaches to ward him off. You can also attempt to go around him to avoid parts being taken. However, if one happens to grab something without you noticing, you can backtrack and find the object hanging from the Pickpocket's tentacle and can, most times, retrieve it again.

Best equipment to protect against theft in Pacific Drive

You are probably more at risk of losing items to Pickpockets when you are on foot. They will sneak up on you and take items right out of your backpack if you aren't careful. The best way to prevent that from happening is to upgrade your equipment using the Outfitting Station. These are the best items to craft:

With these upgrades to your car and to your equipment, you can more effectively defend against these anomalies. It's never fun losing an item, but you don't have to start a war—you can just prevent it from even happening in the first place.
