Some objects you've collected in Pacific Drive show they can be stored in the F.A.X Machine, and if you're like me, you may have looked around the Auto Shop in search of it but to no avail. We have you covered! Here's where to get it.
Pacific Drive F.A.X Machine - How to get and use it
It's essential to get garage upgrades, not only to keep progressing but to open up new opportunities. The F.A.X Machine is one upgrade that is particularly nice for digging up hidden lore while you play, and is used to store the Transmissions and records you find during your Drives.
The F.A.X Machine is not available in the garage right away. First, you'll need to unlock it via the Fabrication Station. It's available under the Garage tab and just below the Detailing Station. However, to unlock it, you'll need to meet the following requirements:
Pre-Requisites | Materials | Energy |
---|---|---|
Craft mat Research Circuit Board | Circuit Board x1 Plastic x20 Copper Wire x5 | Stable Energy 0.3kLIM |
The F.A.X Machine is a garage upgrade, meaning, unlike some blueprints, you can only pick it up and install this one in the proper place in the garage rather than learn the recipe. It will be installed right around the corner from the Fabrication Room next to your locker storage.
Once you have the station installed, you can interact with it, much like the Detailing Station. Interact with it to view the contents on the screen or choose to open the inventory. The F.A.X Machine is meant to hold Transmissions or records and will reveal the lore behind the game's events with various fragments of tapes and communications.
The light on the front of the machine will occasionally blink red and beep to indicate that you have received a random fragment of a transmission. You can view it at any time to cancel the notification. You can also find more Transmissions during your drive (indicated by the tape icon on your ARC Device) and place them into the storage of the F.A.X Machine to view them at any time.
Even if you aren't big on finding out lore for the game, these fragments can provide helpful tips to follow as well and will fill in the information on your Logbook as you uncover them. It is well worth picking them on your Drives when you see them and keeping an eye on the Machine for any incoming fragments.
