So anyway, the Path of Exile 2 teaser started blasting

Best crosshair settings coming soon!

The November 30 Path of Exile 2 developer livestream was quite the blast, both figuratively and literally—I mean, we saw a newly featured Mercenary class walking softly and carrying a big gun. If you're shocked as I was, let's try to recap.

Will Path of Exile 2 feature guns?

Ever since the November 30 Path of Exile 2 developer livestream dropped, we had a chance to see our favorite RPG in a very different, more action-oriented light. In a short YouTube video, we caught a glimpse of a new Mercenary class, which apparently packs quite a punch as they opened up on an unsuspecting mob of monsters. Aside from odd weapon choices, its look and art style distinguishes it from all other Path of Exile 2 classes.

Upon closer inspection, what could be perhaps mistaken as a fully automatic weapon is actually a fully automatic crossbow, which fires explosive bolts. The game designers have chosen a very interesting art style in creating the weapon's effects, making this one to be easily mistaken for more modern armament.

What really caught my eye was the very first weapon the Mercenary fired at mobs, projecting a buckshot-type blast. It does appear to be a type of multi-barrel blunderbuss, as the hero blasted away at the dog-like creatures, only to switch to his auto-bow.

Will Path of Exile 2 be getting WASD movement?

There is a very real chance that Path of Exile 2 will be getting WASD movement, at least as an option, in the near future. The more keen-eyed have probably noticed a particular movement pattern as the Mercenary started back-pedaling away from monsters in the trailer, indicating a very particular movement type associated with the famous WASD keyboard movement that many popular RPG titles have.

The community's opinions on this matter are largely divided. While a certain number of people welcome this option, many others consider it to be a stupid move since adding it would seriously limit the player's ability to use skills on time.

While I am a hardcore Diablo player and am no stranger to this playing style, I see where they are coming from and the problems such a control scheme may cause. In the event that the developers decide to put in the WASD movement, they will most likely add it as an optional choice rather than making a mandatory switch.
