Unlike its predecessor, Payday 3 is going cross-platform. Unfortunately, while Payday 2 was available on seven platforms, the sequel will be trimming that number. I've broken down all the details for you below.
Which platforms is Payday 3 on?
I played the Payday 3 technical open beta to test out what the game is going to be like, and honestly, it seems quite promising. One feature I was quickly prompted to activate or deactivate when launching the game was cross-platform gameplay, which put any doubts aside. Payday 3 will indeed feature cross-play, with heist progression synchronized between players on all platforms: Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC, both via Steam, Epic Games, and Xbox Game Pass, so you can play the game with your friends no matter where they are.

Will Payday 3 be on PS4 and Xbox One?
If you notice, the list unfortunately does not include the PlayStation 4 or Xbox One, as the game is exclusively going to be available on the newest generation of consoles. The developers haven't said anything about the game coming to older generations, either.
