After months of silence, the team at Kinetic Games surprised Phasmophobia's ghost hunters with some thrilling news about its planned 'Eventide' content update, which is now officially set to drop on June 25, just less than a week from today. It's a big step forward on its planned Roadmap for 2024.

First off, a new map location called Point Hope Lighthouse will finally join the roster of current maps in the game, after its conceptual design had been teased for some time (seen above). This will be the first new map since the addition of the Sunnyvale Asylum and will have a more dynamic, circular layout. It certainly will make looping ghosts during hunts more interesting.

Alongside that, the game will also get the long-awaited Ascension adjustments, which is essentially an all-around overhaul of the game's mechanics and progression system. Among them, equipment such as the thermometer will get a rework, more prestige-related cosmetic unlocks will be added, and taking photos during hunts will be a lot less stressful with the ability to delete ones you don't need.

There will also be various optimizations, changes, and fixes brought in as well, all to ensure that the aforementioned updates launch smoothly.

Instead of releasing smaller updates separately, the Eventide update will essentially be a bundle of everything in the immediate pipeline. This is likely the smarter move as Phasmophobia players have had little in the way of new content to enjoy in recent months (aside from the Easter event back in March).

Imminent release window for Phasmophobia console port

For those still waiting on news regarding the planned console port for Phasmophobia, there is a point of hope (aha) to look forward to, as Kinetic mentioned via the Steam community board that there will be "more information on the development and plans for the Console within the next few weeks".
