In March 2022, Sony first announced that PlayStation Plus would be reworked with new subscription tiers and gave an estimated release of June. But Sony has now given an updated timeline with the new tiers beginning to roll out in May.
This news came from the official PlayStation Twitter and was also posted on the PlayStation blog. This update reveals the following dates for when the new PlayStation Plus subscription tiers will be released.
- Asia markets (excluding Japan) – targeting May 23, 2022
- Japan – targeting June 1, 2022
- Americas – targeting June 13, 2022
- Europe – targeting June 22, 2022
The update comes ahead of the initial June estimate in certain markets, while others will receive the new tiers in June. The rework of PlayStation Plus combines PlayStation Now and PlayStation Plus to create a more streamlined service with various options.
When the update goes live in Asian markets this May, we will likely get first-hand reports of how the new service compares to previous ones. Be sure to follow the PlayStation Twitter and blog for more information on updates!
