Best Nature for Gligar and Gliscor in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet

It's just so cute...!

Gliscor is one of those Pokémon that I simply like because it’s cute. Of course, it has the added bonus of being an amazing competitive tank with that beefy Defense stat. If you’re looking to optimize your Gligar, or soon-to-be Gliscor’s, build—below are the natures you should be aiming for.

What is the best nature for Gligar and Gliscor in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet?

The best natures for Gligar and Gliscor in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet are the following:

  • Careful (+Special Defense, -Special Attack)
  • Impish (+Defense, -Special Attack)

We love our Gligars and Gliscors to be super-duper tanky, at least in PvP. Thus, Impish or Careful are the best choices for it. While there are a couple who would argue for a nature that boosts Speed (such as Timid), it’s generally better to have it take attacks better. This way, you can pull off a combo like three Swords Dances and an Earthquake.

If you’re not going to use your Gliscor competitively, then a nature like Adamant (+Attack, -Special Attack) is more than okay to have.

How to choose the best nature in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet

It’s never easy to choose the best nature for your Pokémon. I usually consider where I’m planning to use it. For example, there are Pokémon like Umbreon, where I’d probably advise you to build for Raids in Scarlet & Violet. Gliscor’s pretty good both in-game and competitively, though, so build him according to your needs.
