Best Nature for Quaxly, Quaxwell, and Quaquaval Pokémon Scarlet & Violet

The duck Pokémon.

As a starter Pokémon in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet, it's crucial to have Quaxly's Nature right. Nature's are essential for competitive play as they buff specific stats and decrease others. The proper Nature could be the difference between winning or losing. After all, you want your starter to be the best Pokémon on the team! With that in mind, here’s the best Nature for Quaxly, Quaxwell, and Quaquava in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet.

What is the best Nature for Quaxly, Quaxwell, and Quaquaval in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet?

The best Nature for Quaxly, Quaxwell, and Quaquaval in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet are the following:

  • Adamant (+Attack, -Sp. Atk)
  • Jolly (+Speed, -Sp. Atk)

For general battles, Jolly is a pretty good Nature for Quaxly to have. Quaxly has an equal distribution of points across its stats except for Attack, which is its stat with the highest value. Jolly will ensure that it takes the first move against most Pokémon.

However, an Adamant Nature will amplify its already high Attack stat. Quaquaval, its final evolution, has a signature move called Aqua Step. Aqua Step boosts Speed after every use. If you combine this with Moxie, Quaquaval's hidden ability, it will make the first move during its second turn onwards. A strategy like this can warrant an Adamant or any Nature that boosts Quaxly's Attack.

To choose the best Nature for your Pokémon, look up their base stats and move pools. Then, consider the growth of the stats that can complement their moves and highest offensive stat (Attack or Sp. Atk). Attack affects the damage dealt by Physical Attacks, and Sp. Atks affect the damage dealt by Special Attacks.
