Best Nature for Umbreon in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet

The Moonlight Pokémon.

Umbreon is a Dark-type Pokémon that evolves from an affectionate Eevee at night. While every Eeveelution has its own strengths and weaknesses, Umbreon is arguably one of the best ones to use competitively, in Tera Raids, and in crucial story battles like the Elite Four. Below are a couple of Natures that you can choose for it in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet.

What is the best Nature for Umbreon in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet?

The best Natures for Umbreon in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet are:

  • Bold (+Defense, -Attack)
  • Impish (+Defense, -Sp. Attack)
  • Calm (+Sp. Defense, -Attack)
  • Careful (+Sp. Defense, -Sp. Attack)

If it wasn’t obvious from the above choices, the best builds for Umbreon are always the defensive ones, since it has high HP, Defense, and Sp. Defense. Its Sp. Defense is the highest, so boosting the growth of this stat will let Umbreon tank every special attack (even for types it is weak to). However, boosting its Defense will make it a more well-rounded tank.

While it's slow to chip the opponent’s HP, it’ll most definitely be one of your last mons standing during difficult battles. It’s a trusted partner that will carry you to the end of the game!

How to choose the best Nature in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet

The “best” Nature for every Pokémon is different. For most, it’s usually the one that boosts their best stat and slows the growth of their worst one. But in cases like Umbreon and Wo-Chien, it helps to think about their eventual utility in battle.
