Best pokemon to catch with your Master Ball in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet

You get one chance.

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet feature an open world full of Pokémon to discover in the Paldea region. Throughout your journey, you will encounter rare Pokémon, some of which are difficult to capture. Fortunately, you will receive the Master Ball, a Pokéball with a 100 percent capture rate. But this may leave you wondering what Pokémon to use the Master Ball on in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.

Who to use your Master Ball on in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet

As the Master Ball is the best Pokéball in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, you will want to use it on an extremely difficult Pokémon to capture. This makes Koraidon or Miraidon the best Pokémon to use the Master Ball on in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. They are legendary Pokémon and are largely considered the hardest to catch due to their level, capture rate, and power.

That being said, you can absolutely catch them using other Pokéballs if you prefer to save the Master Ball. It is a one-time use, so wanting to save this powerful capture tool is understandable. If you decide not to use the Master Ball, we recommend bringing high-level Pokémon, preferably one that knows False Swipe and a status-inflicting move. Lowering Koraidon or Miraidon's health to one and putting a status condition on it will increase your odds of capturing it.

Keep in mind that Koraidon and Miraidon will be extremely difficult to capture even if you use the methods above instead of the Master Ball. We highly recommend saving before battling the legendary Pokémon in case you accidentally knock it out or it defeats your Pokémon team.
