Pokémon Scarlet & Violet’s Pokédex is bigger than most games, with exactly 400 entries needed to be filled up (including Paradox Pokémon). But doing so is not easy. You will even need to trade with trainers who have a copy of the other version of the game so you can get the exclusives. After all the hard work, however, surely there must be something at the end of it?
Pokémon Scarlet & Violet Pokédex completion rewards
When you complete your Pokédex, you get two things: a Beast Ball and a Shiny Charm. Speak with Jacq, the biology professor, after completing the Pokédex. The principal will also come to congratulate you and give you a special certificate.
The Beast Ball doesn’t have any special effects. It was used to capture Ultra Beasts back in Sun & Moon, but here, it’s more of a trophy than anything.
However, the Shiny Charm will increase your shiny encounter rates from 1/4096 to 1/1365, making shiny Pokémon drastically easier to encounter. If you make sandwiches with Sparkling Power, the odds become even better.

How to complete the Pokédex faster in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet
There’s no one real way to complete your Pokédex. However, if you can, try your best to level up and evolve Pokémon rather than search for them in the wild. Some habitats are more challenging to reach, so you’re better off evolving Pokémon in your party as you make your way around Paldea. You’ll also get a Lucky Egg before the sixth gym, which should help you gain levels faster.
Pokémon Scarlet & Violet is the first open-world Pokémon game. It encourages trainers to seek out and find their “treasure.” If completing the Pokédex is one of your treasures, then well done!
