Where to find Munchlax in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet

Shiny hunting? Munchlax is hidden no more.

Up until the Teal Mask DLC was released, Munchlax was not an available Pokémon in Scarlet & Violet. But if you want to finally catch this rare pocket monster for your collection, you'll need The Teal Mask DLC and maybe a little help finding its usual haunts. I have tracked down this new Pokémon to help everyone get one of their very own.

Munchlax location in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet (Teal Mask DLC)

Munchlax can be found in two main areas of Kitakami. The best places to find these little guys are right around the northernmost part of the map and along the western edges of the DLC's map. You can sometimes find them walking on the grasslands. Take note that Munchlaxes are extremely rare! Fortunately, Pokémon Scarlet & Violet has sandwiches to make up for the lapses in rarity.

But if you're not shiny hunting and are just looking for a Munchlax to add to your Pokédex, the easiest way to capture one is by defeating the unique one (yes, I found one with a special Tera type) wandering west of the Community Center. I've included the map location too!

Munchlax stats in Teal Mask DLC Pokémon Scarlet & Violet

Munchlax is a Normal-type Pokémon that evolves into Snorlax after reaching high friendship levels. They have three abilities: Pickup (a 10% chance of finding an item after or outside of battle), Thick Fat (damage received from Fire-type and Ice-type moves is reduced to 50%), and the hidden ability called Gluttony (uses a Berry when its HP drops below 50%).

Here is a list of their base starting stats:

  • HP: 135 (Level 50 min/max: 195 - 242)
  • Atk: 85 (Level 50 min/max: 81 - 150)
  • Def: 40 (Level 50 min/max: 40 - 101)
  • SpAtk: 40 (Level 50 min/max: 40 - 101)
  • SpDef: 85 (Level 50 min/max: 81 - 150)
  • Speed: 5 (Level 50 min/max: 9 - 62)
