Best Raid Counters for Mega Blaziken in Pokémon GO

Thankfully it doesn't have Speed Boost in this game.

Pokémon GO trainers are going to have their work cut out for them when the Catching Z's event arrives, because that's when Mega Blaziken enters Mega Raids. This Pokémon is not to be taken lightly, as it has a huge Attack stat (329) and boasts strong moves like Overheat, Brave Bird, and Focus Blast. The only hope of beating this titan is by bringing several teammates along and using some of these counters.

Which Pokémon counters Mega Blaziken in Pokémon GO?

Due to its Fire and Fighting types, there are several weaknesses to Mega Blaziken that trainers can exploit. The issue is they need to do enough damage before they die to Mega Blaziken's onslaught. As a result, most of the top counters are either powerful Legendary Pokémon or Mega Evolutions.

This list may look pretty daunting for trainers who don't have a large amount of Legendary Pokémon. Fortunately, some more common Pokémon can deal enough damage to beat Mega Blaziken.

Some easy counters would be the Water-type starters. They all get access to Hydro Cannon, which is arguably the best Water-type move in the game. This makes Samurott and Feraligatr good options to bring. Alternatively, Gyarados resists both of Mega Blaziken's STAB options (Fire and Fighting).

I would personally stay away from Pokémon that are particularly frail. Espeon, for instance, can use Confusion and Psychic to score a quick kill on Mega Blaziken. However, if it gets hit with an Overheat or Brave Bird, it might not survive long enough to earn the knockout.
