How to catch and evolve Ralts in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl

One of the most versatile Pokémon out there.

Ralts is a Psychic/Fairy-type Pokémon who eventually evolves into Kirlia. Ralts has two final evolutions: Gardevoir, who’s a heavy Sp. Attacker, and Gallade, who specializes in physical attacks. Here’s everything you need to know about the Ralts line in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.

Ralts can be found in the tall grass as early as Routes 203 and 204. However, it’s much faster to catch one in the Grand Underground.

Ralts is sort of rare even underneath, but it can be encountered in any Dazzling Cave, Fountainspring Cave, and the Stargleam Cavern under Celestic Town. If you have a Nintendo Switch Online Membership, enter the Underground connected to the Internet for higher chances of spawning rare Pokémon.

The path to Gallade is much tricker. First, only male Ralts can evolve into a Gallade. Once that male Ralts is a Kirlia, it can evolve into a Gallade with a Dawn Stone. Without a Dawn Stone, the Kirlia will turn into Gardevoir automatically.

Dawn Stones can be dug up in the Grand Underground. However, you can grab one in Mount Coronet. Enter the area from Route 207, head south, and Surf to the right.

A Dawn Stone is also found in a Whiteout Cave in Snowpoint Underground (it’s the lower-right most area) and in Route 225 when you use Rock Climb.
