How to check friendship level in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl

Have you ever wondered why your Buneary won't evolve?

Certain Pokémon in Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl such as Roselia, Lopunny, and Chimecho, needs their evolutionary starters to be at a high friendship level to evolve. Every Pokémon starts at a base friendship of 70 (unless they’re caught with a Friend Ball—then they start at 200), and you will need to grind that up to 220 to evolve them.

While it won’t give you a definite number, the Friendship Checker will display hearts reflecting your Pokémon’s level of affection for you. Simply long press the Pokémon whose friendship you want to check. The max friendship indicator is two big hearts.

You can build friendship by leveling up your Pokémon in battle, using battle items on them, traveling with them, or taking them to the massage parlor in Veilstone City.
