How to Fix Incense Not Working in Pokémon GO

Why won't it work?

Niantic has added a new type of Incense to Pokémon GO. This Incense allows players to catch rare Pokémon and can be extremely useful. Some players have been running into issues when using this new Incense, but there are things they can do to fix the issue.

How do you get Adventure Incense to work in Pokémon GO?

There are a few reasons why the Adventure Incense might not be working. It can be an issue with the device's time settings or just a simple bug with the game. Not to worry, as there are ways around both of these issues.

Players should first try to reset their time settings on their devices. You can do this by going to the device's settings and heading to the Time & Date settings. Players should then be sure that their date and time are set to update automatically. Having a time or date that updates manually can create issues with Pokémon GO, especially the Incense mechanic in the game.

The other alternative, if the previous solution doesn't work, is to completely close the app, restart the device, and then reopen the game. This should cause the Incense to work as intended.

What is Adventure Incense in Pokémon GO?

Adventure Incense is a new Incense that players can use once per day. This new Incense will spawn Pokémon that don't spawn very often. This is a great way for players, especially new players, to fill out their Pokédex since Pokémon currently spawn in a rotation, and only certain ones can be caught at any given time.
