Pokémon Go April Fools’ 2-Oh-22 Event: Field Research, Special Research, and Featured Pokémon

Niantic has announced Pokémon Go's plans for April Fools' Day. The event titled April Fools' 2-Oh-22 will take place on April 1, 2022. Players can participate in the event through the Special Research tasks, Field Research Tasks, and lucky players may even catch some shiny Pokémon.

*All Pokémon marked with an asterisk have the chance to be shiny when encountered.

Featured Pokémon

Pokémon Go's April Fools' Day event is all about the Pokémon Ditto. Players can catch wild Pokémon for the chance to encounter a Ditto. Shiny Ditto is also available in the game, though it is unclear whether or not they will have an increased chance of appearing. The Pokémon appearing in the wild that can result in a Ditto encounter can be seen below:

• Ekans*
• Natu*
• Gastly*
• Surskit
• Finneon
• Dwebble*
• Slurpuff

Field Research

Spinning PokéStops during the event will result in players receiving the event-exclusive Research Task featuring Ditto. The research task is listed below.

• Catch three Ditto* - Ditto* encounter

Special Research

There will be a Special Research task available during the event on April 1, 2022. The full list of Research Tasks can be found below.

• Catch 10 Pokémon - 25 Poké Balls
• Catch five Normal-type Pokémon - Five Potions
• Make five Nice Throws - Five Nanab Berries

Reward: 15 Ditto Candies, five Razz Berries, and 1,000 Stardust.

• Catch 10 Pokémon - 15 Great Balls
• Catch three Ditto - Five Super Potions
• Transfer 10 Pokémon - Five Pinap Berries

Reward: 15 Ditto Candies, a Silver Pinap Berry, and 1,500 XP.

• Claim reward - Five Hyper Potions
• Claim reward - 3,500 XP

Reward: Ditto encounter, 15 Ditto Candies, and 3,000 Stardust.
