In March of 2022, Pokémon GO will have spotlight hours that will grant players a chance to collect a Shiny Cubone and Marowak. Spotlight Hours are on Tuesdays from 6pm to 7pm on the player's local time, during which all of the Pokémon that spawn on the map will be the same.
What days are the Cubone Spotlight Hours?
March 1 was the first Tuesday of the month, and the Spotlight Hour was dedicated to Cubones. During this event, Cubones littered every corner of the map. They could easily be collected in groups and had a boost on Candies, making them easier to evolve into Marowaks. This would have been the best time to find a shiny Cubone. Luckily, this isn't the only way!

Best place and time to find Cubones and Marowaks
While the Spotlight Hour event was helpful, a Spotlight Hour is happening every Tuesday, so it's certain to come around again. Alternatively, there are plenty of other times that players can collect Cubones or Marowaks. There are several events throughout the year that boost their spawns.
Cubone Spawn Boosted Events
- Dia de Muertos - November 1 to 2
- Animation Week - November 6 to 12
- Halloween - October 23 to November 3
- Earth Day - April 29 to May 2
Outside of these revolving holidays, other events throughout the year will likely increase their spawn rate. Certain Incense Days, such as Swinub and Type Shuffle, have boosted their spawn rate in the past. Other events, such as Team GO Rocket Global Take-over, Chicago Pokémon Go Fest 2019, Detective Pikachu Celebration, and the Ingress Prime Celebration, also boosted their spawn rate.
