Should I keep Budew in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl?

I mean, if you want a Roselia.

Budew is a Grass-type Pokémon prominently found in the Eterna Forest. However, you can occasionally spot one in Route 204 (on your way to Jubilife City). If you didn’t get Piplup as your starter, a Budew is essential to beating gym leader Roark.

But is it worth keeping Budew around after that? The answer is yes.

What does Budew evolve into?

Budew evolves into Roselia at a high friendship level, which you can check using the Friendship Tracker, but only during the day. Later on, it evolves into Roserade when exposed to a Shiny Stone.

Are Roselia and Roserade good Pokémon?

The answer to this is also yes. Both Roselia and Roserade have a good variety of moves plus access to the Natural Cure and Poison Point abilities. Roserade, in particular, has a very high Sp. Attack stat, making it a good choice for competitive battles. If you can capture a Budew with a Modest, Mild, Quiet, or Rash nature, which means that its Sp. Attack grows faster, you can maximize Roserade’s deadly special attack potential.
