Pokémon fans know that the Hoenn region is famous for its memorable Water-types such as Swampert, Walrein, and the legendary Kyogre. The upcoming Spotlight Hour promises to bring another Water-type from the third Generation: Wailmer. While some fans will certainly be excited, even trainers that don't want to use Wailmer might want to participate in this Spotlight Hour just for the bonus.
Wailmer featured in Spotlight Hour in Pokemon GO
The next Spotlight Hour featuring Wailmer will occur on Tuesday, July 11th at the customary time of 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. local time. During this hour, loads of Wailmer will be available to catch. For the maximum number of encounters, trainers can activate a Rainy Lure Module. This item attracts Pokémon of the Water, Electric, and Bug-types.
Can Wailmer be shiny in Pokémon GO?
Yup, Wailmer has a chance to be shiny! The odds of finding one are still pretty low, however. This is why it makes sense to use a Rainy Lure Module, even during a Spotlight Hour. To find shiny Wailmer, most trainers will need the maximum number of encounters.

What will be the bonus during Wailmer's Spotlight Hour?
The bonus during the event will be double catch XP. That means just through catching multiple copies of Wailmer, trainers will be gaining XP that they can use to level up their other Pokemon. If any trainers out there have Lucky Eggs on them, they should save them for this Spotlight Hour. They have a shot at quadrupling their XP gain with a Lucky Egg!
Which Pokémon will be featured in upcoming Spotlight Hours?
Wailmer is going to be the second Spotlight Hour Pokémon in the month of July. After Wailmer will be Ryhorn, one of the original 151 Pokémon from the first generation. To close out the month of July will be Yungoos, the early game Normal-type from the tropical region of Alola.
