Mega Evolution has been a huge part of Pokémon ever since it was introduced in X/Y. Most preceding games had it—even the Hoenn remakes Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. Is it the same case for Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl?
The short answer is not likely.
The long answer is that the Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl are meant to be faithful remakes of the original games. So while this means we’re indeed getting Pokémon Contests, Poffins, and walking Pokémon back, it also means that we’re stuck with one-time use Technical Moves in a very likely pre-Mega Evolution era.
Moreover, if the Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl did have Mega Evolution, they would have advertised it in their trailers, much like Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire.

Of course, this isn’t necessarily a bad thing. The competitive in-game scene, which Mega Charizards and Mega Tyranitars have heavily dominated, can go back to a time when most Pokémon had a place in every team. You also have the incentive to experiment with several setups and combos rather than rely on a Mega Lucario you might have had (no matter how cool it would have been). It’ll make those gym rematches more challenging.
