Can you destroy walls in Project Zomboid?

It's hammer time!

If you are wondering if you can destroy walls in Project Zomboid, the answer is yes. To destroy walls in Project Zomboid, you will first need a Sledgehammer, and with this Sledgehammer, right-click a wall and click the destroy option.

Doing so will allow your character to start swinging at a wall until it is gone and destroyed. That said, Sledgehammers are best used as a way to get through tough obstacles such as metal fences in Gun stores or the gates to Louisville.

You can use Sledgehammers to destroy unwanted walls in your base or correct mistakes when building as well. But keep in mind you will not be able to swing a Sledgehammer if you are exhausted.

You will also need to find a Sledgehammer first, which can be easier said than done. Luckily it's not much of a problem finding a Sledgehammer once you know where the tool spawns. In short, you can find Sledgehammers in the following locations in Project Zomboid.

  • Garages
  • Tool shelves.
  • Fire Station
  • Hardware Stores
  • crates
  • Metal shelves.

If you have trouble finding a Sledgehammer, we recommend going through a process of elimination when looting. Eventually, if you search everything in one of the towns in Project Zomboid, you should find the Sledgehammer.
