Project Zomboid Carpentry leveling guide

Level up the carpentry skill with the methods in this guide!

To level up carpentry in Project Zomboid, players will need to build items that require carpentry, such as walls and furniture, and watch the Life and Living channel at 12pm. Sawing logs and turning them into planks is another way to gain carpentry XP.

Players can also dismantle many items in various locations and gain XP towards carpentry. These items include doors, furniture, tables, and even chairs. Dismantling the following items can also net you a ton of XP.

  • Beds
  • Wooden Crates
  • Tables
  • School Lunch room tables
  • Church Pews

That said, you can use dismantling to farm for a ton of XP if you locate warehouses. Warehouses will contain a ton of wooden boxes, which you can break down through dismantling.

Another good Carpentry farm is dismantling the many furniture items found in Schools. These items Include desks, tables, lunch room tables, etc.

How to level up Carpentry Fast

If you want to level up Carpentry fast in Project Zomboid, combine dismantling items with reading Skill books and watching VHS tapes. Reading Skill books in the game can give you a huge XP boost toward leveling your Carpentry skill. But you will need to read a total of five books in the following order:

  • Carpentry for Beginners - Levels 1 to 2
  • Carpentry for Intermediates - Levels 3 to 4
  • Advanced Carpentry - Levels 5 to 6
  • Expert Carpentry - Levels 7 to 8
  • Master Carpentry - Levels 9 to 10

Like with dismantling, you can also combine reading skill books with building items. In short, Building a ton of items like walls and various furniture can net you a ton of XP. We recommend building large objects such as walls and gates.
