Rainbow Six Extraction features a variety of game modes, maps, operators, and customization options. The final game mode, Maelstrom Protocol, takes place in an extended, ever-evolving arena that unlocks after you reach Milestone level 16 in the game. Here's a guide on how the mode works.
In Maelstrom Protocol, players are given nine objectives in total instead of the usual three objectives. As you proceed to the next challenge, the difficulty increases. This is done by increasing the number of Archaeans and reducing the supplies and time allotted to complete the objective.

Furthermore, Maelstrom only allows you to choose from a set selection of six operators. On top of that, the selection of operators, objectives, and mutations for this mode are changed weekly to keep things fresh. Since flexibility is limited, Maelstrom Protocol tests the skills that you've learned while playing the game overtime.
This game mode is a high-risk, high-reward tactic in Rainbow Six Extraction. Although you can extract after any objective, completing all nine levels allows you to bag huge amounts of XP, REACT credits, and other in-game cosmetics.
