Should you pay tribute to the Red Prince in Remnant 2?

Who is this Prince to ask for tribute?

Remnant 2 offers many things I enjoy, ranging from quests to challenging bosses, as well as puzzling decisions. These all came together when I encountered the Red Prince in the Gilded Chambers. This imposing figure instructed me to pay tribute, but after killing an Imposter pretending to be a king, I wasn't exactly sure if this entity deserved my respect.

Remant 2 - Paying tribute to or denying the Red Prince

While the choice is ultimately up to you, I recommend making your choice based on your build. Ranged builds will benefit more from denying the Red Prince, while melee builds will benefit more from paying tribute to the Red Prince. This is because of the reward you receive for either choice.

How to pay Tribute to the Red Prince in Remnant 2 - What to do with Crimson King Coin?

To pay tribute to the Red Prince, you must collect three Crimson King Coins from the Teleporting Fae swordsman. If you do not have all three, you cannot offer them to the Red Prince. Once you have all three collected, speak to the Red Prince and select the option to pay tribute. Don't panic when the three Fae spirits kill you. You will respawn with your rewards.

Should you deny the Red Prince in Remnant 2?

If you choose not to pay tribute and deny the Red Prince, you must fight him. He is very challenging, so make sure you're prepared for a tough fight. This is the option I went with, and it took me a few tries to defeat him. Here is how to beat the Red Prince in Remnant 2.

How to beat the Red Prince in Remnant 2

The Red Prince is easily one of the hardest bosses I've faced in Remnant 2. He has fast attacks that can set you on fire and inflict Curse. He fights primarily with melee attacks but has ranged attacks as well. In addition to this, the Red Prince can summon fire duplicates of himself and create a flaming cyclone.

The Red Prince opens with a ranged attack. Dodge the fire spears as he throws them at you, then dodge again when he pulls them back. After this, the Red Prince may summon a fire clone or attack you with melee strikes. Ensure you defeat the fire clones as quickly as possible, or you may get overwhelmed.

The Red Prince will continue attacking with fast melee attacks or fire projectiles until you deal a portion of his health. He will then create a flaming cyclone that engulfs the arena. Make your way to the center platform, or the cyclone will kill you instantly.

During this time, the Red Prince will attack you with aggressive melee attacks. He will also teleport around the now-shrunken arena, so stay on your toes. After some time, the cyclone will disperse, and you can leave the center area. It may take some time to learn the Red Prince's pattern, but with patience and effort, you can defeat him.
