Resident Evil 4 Remake brings back the reimaged storyline of a federal agent Leon Kennedy, saving the president's daughter Ashley Graham from the clutches of the Los Illuminados cult. The developers at Capcom gave the story a polish with some new elements while keeping it true to the original. But in the process of making Resident Evil 4 a remake worthy of a new generation, a portion of the content has been cut by the developers. In this guide, we will go through the list of content that didn't make it into the game with you. Needless to say, spoiler ahead!
Resident Evil 4 Remake Cut Content List
Following is the list of Resident Evil 4 Remake content that was initially supposed to be included but has been cut from the game by the developers, according to multiple sources we found online:
- Verdugo #2 does not fuse with Salazar but is alive and absent for the rest of the game
- Island Laser Room
- Assignment Ada Mode
- Separate Ways Campaign
- The U-3 Bossfight and related area
- Incendiary Grenades
- The Cable Cars are now a part of the background scenery and not usable
- Island Throne Room
- Sequences of Ashley running through the Village alone at night from the trailer
- No running from a Boulder sequences
Despite the earlier claims from the Resident Evil 4 Remake director Yoshiaki Hirabayashi that they will not cut any content from the game but only improve upon it, they apparently haven't been true. The most notable absence is the Laser Room from the original Resident Evil 4 on the Island portion of the game, which has been a fan-favorite quick-time event.
In addition, Mercenaries Mode, Assignment Ada Mode, and Separate Ways Campaign, are missing. However, the game devs confirmed the Mercenaries challenge mode to come out as a part of the game's first free DLC after the launch.
